The Best Fabric Choices:

It's a simple quilt design, but Kay has made it fabulous with her fabric selections.

And the back is as fabulous as the front.  Kay's quilt labels are always well thought out and the quilting adds just the right pizazz for this little beauty, don't you think.

Christmas Fabric...a quilt and stocking

Betty said it all started when the daughter of a friend (or was it the friend's mother)  had all this Christmas fabric and could Betty make a quilt out of it.  Betty said she could, then when she spread it all out of the floor, almost panicked.....what to do with so much fabric?

She finally figured out some of it and called on her backup crew for more advise on what to use and in what layout and finally came up with this most delightful quilt.   And a Christmas stocking to boot!
Betty, your friend will love seeing how all her Christmas fabric has been incorporated in this quilt and stocking.

Every quilt has a story:

Oh, and Betty also made her jacket.

Quilts of Valor

Resounding cheers go out to those who are making and donating beautiful quilts to the Quilts of Valor program.  The Piney Hills Quilt Guild members enjoyed visiting with some of the ladies in the Ruston, Louisiana, area who are dedicated to the Quilts of Valor project.  Each year the Senior Circle quilters for America's Heroes makes quilts to honor local veterans.  Their 2012 goal was to make twelve quilts for World War II veterans.

Here is just a sampling of some of the quilts that were show-cased at the Piney Hills Quilt Guild meeting Thursday morning prior to their presentation to twelve World War II veterans.

Thank you Julie, Karen, Donna, Susie and Tammy (not pictured) for sharing your beautiful work to honor our nation's best.

The Piney Hills Quilt Guild meets the second Thursday  each month,  9:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 3401 North Trenton St. (Hwy. 167 N).
